User reviews 1 Review. Featured review. Stop being so pretentious, Kyle. Season 3 is a little bit shorter than your typical full-length season would be at just 16 episodes.

There isn't one ongoing story arch that lasts the entire run like in the next three seasons. You can downgrade Season 3 because of that, but one thing that this season has over any other is how consistent it is. Season 3 is full of great episodes like "Soulmates" that feel more like stand-alone episodes rather than being part of one extended story.

The episode is centered around Leslie trying to get back in the dating market and decides to use a dating website called HoosierMate love the play on words. When Leslie finds out she is 98 percent compatible with someone, a "soulmate" rating, she is shocked to learn that it is actually Tom. This storyline is a little silly, but very funny to watch Tom take advantage of this scenario and make fun of her for it.

There are a lot of classic Tom lines in this episode including what he likes to call different foods. Without spoiling anything it makes a lot of sense why they would match which is revealed at the end of the episode. The ending is also great which involves a flower mural which I won't spoil, but it is one of the more underrated and sweetest moments of the season. As good as the main storyline is, it just does not compare to the great side-plot which revolves around Ron and Chris competing on who can make the more tasty burger.

I think this storyline represents what make's Chris and Ron's character so funny and explores just how different they really are from each other. We see everyone visit Grain 'n Simple, where Chris buys all his "healthy" food.

I also love when Chris asks Andy what his favorite food is and he replies: skittles in between two starbursts, which he calls "Andy's mouth surprise. Overall, "Soulmates" is a very funny episode that has a great main story and an even better B-story. The episode really showcases what is so great about Tom's Chraracter, and also just how different Ron and Chris are from one another. There really aren't two characters who are just a like in this show, which is one of the reason's why I love it so much.

Edit page. Later in the episode, Chris Rob Lowe reveals to Leslie that Ben had asked him if he could date a co-worker, which Chris promptly forbade. Armed with this information, Leslie decides to delete her online dating profile. At an office cookout in the courtyard, Leslie asks Ben if they can go somewhere and chat about some of her ideas.

He suggests that they meet at his favorite place in the building: the wildflower mural on the second floor. Without saying why Leslie gives him a sweet smile and agrees. This pretty much sums up the title of this episode.

With their sexual tension at an all-time high, Leslie is doing her best to steer clear of Ben. When they are victorious on their mission, they go out to dinner to celebrate. Ben can no longer take it and finally confesses his feelings to Leslie which she immediately reciprocates. Unfortunately, Chris surprises them and invites them to stay at his place with him in Indy which squashes any hopes of them cementing their newly admitted attraction to each other.

Once they return home, Leslie is disappointed, but a little relieved that nothing happened as she loves her job too much to put it at risk. Until one afternoon when Chris leaves early and she bumps into Ben. Without any hesitation, he grabs her and pulls her into a big, dramatic kiss. After deciding to put their relationship on hold at the end of Season three so Leslie could run for City Council without any skeletons in her closet, the two have been trying their best to work together cordially.

The problem is, their feelings are so deep that being around each other is painful. Ben sadly requests that they try to have as little contact as possible because it hurts too much. Leslie requests for Ben to meet her at the smallest park to apologize. Even though Leslie and Ben are now in the full throes of a relationship, they have to come clean to Chris. He is simultaneously happy for them as he is infuriated that he has to launch a full investigation and put Leslie on trial for ethics.

He wants Leslie to continue her campaign and if he takes full responsibility for all the misdoings, she can proceed. Leslie is devastated as is Chris, but Chris encourages her to read the transcript of Ben's resignation meeting with Chris. Although Chris is only doing his job, Ben is still his best friend and he is so happy he found Leslie. When Leslie has court stenographer Ethel Beavers Helen Slayton-Hughes read her the transcript, she hears that Ben admits to Chris that it was all worth it because of how much he loves Leslie.

Leslie grabs Ethel and has her come with her to see Ben who is waiting for her at her house. Ben Wyatt. Ben has been working in D. and Leslie misses him terribly.
